Project Summary

Nigeria has second largest burden of HIV in the world. The STRIPEN-HIV program implements STRIPE HIV across six training institutions in six regions . The objectives of STRIPEN-HIV are to develop the capacity of the next generation of health professionals in their final year of training or during internship to equip them with knowledge and skills to deliver high-quality, collaborative, evidence-informed, team-based care for HIV/AIDS and to provide mentoring during their National Service year.

Key Accomplishments

• 90 facilitators trained to lead 14 workshops
• 249 learners (156 pre-service, 93 postgraduate) trained to deliver high-quality, team-based HIV care
• Established consortium of six universities to extend the impact of STRIPE training 
• Improved learner knowledge 20% 
• Trained learners on COVID-19
