Project Summary

Enhancing HIV Education through Interprofessional Trainings (ENHEIT) is a partnership between Kamuzu College of Nursing, Malawi University of Science and Technology, Malamulo College of Health Sciences, Kamuzu Central Hospital, and Machinga District Hospital. The ENHEIT project aims to enhance and sustain Malawi’s healthcare workforce by fostering a multidisciplinary, team-based approach to HIV care and strengthen the quality and capacity of pre-service and post-graduate health professionals providing HIV care nationally. 

Key Accomplishments

  • 21 facilitators trained to lead 8 workshops
  • 514 learners (254 pre-service, 260 postgraduate) trained to deliver high-quality, team-based HIV care
  • Enhanced learning and skills of health professionals working with people with HIV and COVID-19 
  • Conducted virtual webinars in response to the COVID-19 pandemic
