Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis and Care for Men Who Have Sex with Men
The goal of this session is to prepare learners to provide and promote equitable HIV services to key populations using a multidisciplinary approach, doing so with empathy and without prejudice, and in the process, acquiring skills in and increasing comfort with taking a sexual history.
What you will learn in Module 11
Recognize the unique needs of key populations, including the need to ensure access to health services for them in order to address the HIV epidemic
Recognize the underlying prejudice toward key populations, including provider bias
Demonstrate how to take a sexual history using the 5 “P”s framework
Apply WHO guidelines to evaluate for PrEP eligibility
Describe a PrEP regimen, including screening, monitoring, and counselling for patients
Describe an STI screening plan for key populations
Complete the Module
