Health System Building Blocks: Delivering High Quality Care to Patients with HIV During COVID-19
The goal of this module is for learners to better understand the WHO health system building blocks and how they affect the care of the patients with HIV, including during the COVID-19 pandemic.
What you will learn in Module 13
Demonstrate effective communication strategies to provide support to a patient who is angry or upset
Understand the implications of a drug stockout on ART resistance and clinical outcomes
Discuss the roles of the 6 WHO building blocks of the healthcare system
Identify gaps in healthcare delivery using value- stream mapping (QI)
Use a fishbone diagram in relation to the 6 building blocks of the health care system to identify possible gaps resulting in COVID-19 infections in health facility staff (QI)
Discuss solutions to keep patients engaged in care and on ART during COVID-19
